We are staying in Valbonne which is between Nice and Grasse. Anybody have any good things to say about Valbonne? Thanks!

Valbonne is a village once built around a monastery. The remains can still be visited. Today, Valbonne is part of the Sophia Antipolis techcenter area. It is somewhat off the main tourist track along the coastline.

Well, Valbonne is NOT along the coast; it is inland, not far below Grasse; it is several miles, at least, from Sophia Antipolis.
Valbonne is a lovely little town with a beautiful central square, a fine old church, several charming hotels, and quite a few interesting shops and art galleries. Wandering around the old streets of the town is a good way to experience the feel of day-to-day living: women chatting outside their homes, cats lazing in the sun, residents greeting each other with kisses on both cheecks. As you can tell, we love Valbonne and have been there a numer of times--our friends used to live there and introduced the town to us.

Ah, I see that NiklasB actually meant that the usual tourist route was along the coast. Sorry!
