Where is this street situated?

1 rue de Géneral Blaise. This is where my hostel is... (Garden hotel or Garden Youth Hostel). The directions are below. I am just wondering if this is a good area and convenient to get around from here and if it%26#39;s safe. If not, then I will change where i stay.

From Gare du Nord,Gare de L%26#39;Est and Gare D%26#39;Austerlitz take metro line 5 until Republique metro station and from there change to line 9 and get off at metro station Voltaire and take Avenue Parmentier ;walk a little bit and turn your right from Rue Rochebrunne and the hotel is on the corner of rue Rochebrunne and rue du General Blaise ;on the adress of 1,rue du General Blaise 75011 Paris. From Charles de Gaulle and Orly Airports take the train called RER-B until Gare du Nord and then follow the same directions.

Don%26#39;t worry - it is in the 11%26#39;th arrondissement, and to my knowledge this is not an area where you have to be anxiuos about your safety.

I have stayed in a hotel on Boulevard Voltaire just 7-800 meters from your hostel and we were OK all the time.

But have you checked the reviews on this website ?? They are not very good - I would perhaps look for another hostel. Write %26quot;hostel+paris%26quot; in the Search-field at the top left on this page and there are several to choose between with far better reviews than the Garden Hotel.

For instance %26quot;Lucky Youth%26quot; that has recent, excellent reviews (september 2005).

look for any address at www.pagesjaunes.com They show you photos of the streets.

I%26#39;ve read the reviews of this hostel on other sites and they have been fine. What attracted me to this hostel was the female dorms with 3 beds and ensuite bath... and teh price. I don%26#39;t want to run teh risk of a mixed dorm with lots of people. i will do a search though as you suggested for other places.

You can see the adress here: http://tinyurl.com/mhqey

Is near Oberkampf area (bars, clubs and so), and not far from Bastille. I think it%26#39;s fine for young people. It%26#39;s not a classic touristic place, but more real Paris
