First time in Paris, is it easier to catch train or taxi and what are approx costs?

You can make your way down to the lower Metro level of Gare du Nord and take (a longish underground Correspondence) the #4 Metro ligne (heading in the direction of Porte d%26#39;Orleans)to the ODEON station, then cross Blvd. Saint Germain, walk a block down rue de l%26#39;Ancienne Comedie to Carrefour de Buci and then angle off down rue Dauphine for another block or so to the HÔTEL d%26#39;AUBUSSON--33 rue Dauphine, at the corner of rue Christine....OR...you can simply exit the train station and take a TAXI PARISIEN from the regular taxi rank outside to the hotel. The usual taxi route from Gare du Nord will take you through the arches in the Richelieu and Denon wings of the Louvre, past the Cour Napoleon %26#39;pyramids%26#39; and Arc de Carousel, across the Seine with a view of the bridges stretch to the Eiffel Tower, and along the Blvd. Saint Germain before turning into the neighborhood of the d%26#39;Aubusson. Nice ride. Fare??...probaly 10 €

For a no-fuss way to get to your hotel, take a taxi. I agree that the fare will be approximately 10 euro.

If you%26#39;re staying at the d%26#39;Aubusson (at rue Dauphine %26amp; rue Christine) check out these restaurants in the immediate neighborhood--
RESTAURANT Le CHRISTINE--1 rue Christine (at rue des Grands Augustines)
ROTISSERIE d%26#39;EN FACE--2 rue Christine (at rue des Grands Augustines)
RESTAURANT ALLARD--41 rue Saint André des Arts (at rue de l%26#39;Eperon)
FISH--69 rue de Seine (btwn. Carrefour de Buci %26amp; rue Jacob)

Thank you very much for your replies. Taxi it is. Will we find that drivers will speak English, as I only know basic French. My husband and I are in Paris for 3 nights and plan to walk around Paris as much as possible and stop at places that take our interest and maybe catch L%26#39;Open bus. We are not regular train travellers at home so are a bit reluctant to travel on the metro, maybe we will change our minds if feet get too sore. Can%26#39;t wait to visit your city. Thanks also for the info on restaurants in the area, hopefully we will try them all.
