Lots of airport Shuttles!

I have spent a great deal of time reading the threads about airport shuttles. We have decided to go with a shuttle and have chosen one that no one has mentioned. (Which is a little scary!) Their website is http://www.france-shuttle.com/ with no particular name. I have been in touch with them several times via email and all seems to be going smoothly upfront anyway. Has anyone ever heard of them or used them???

Thanks a bunch!

Just take a taxi, you%26#39;ll save yourself a great deal of reading, deciding, sweating, booking, probably waiting on arrival and zigzaging thru Paris before you reach your actual destination... for maybe €10 more at the end of the day, and worth every penny.

I have heard and seen many stories about shuttles that don%26#39;t turn up... I would take the RER or a taxi, never a shuttle

|||

Sorry...I%26#39;ve never heard of this particular airport shuttle service---but that%26#39;s hardly surprising since, as you correctly observe, there are a lot of them operating in Paris. So a lack of information is not necessarily a bad thing...or anything to be %26#39;scared%26#39; about. If they have been satisfactorily responsive to your e-mails, then odds are they will be equally responsive with their service.

As for the relative reliability of airport shuttle services, they tend to be about as reliable as ANY other mode of airport transfers. NO form of airport transfer is without its flaws and difficulties.

We used them last May. It was not the best experience - we arrived to Paris around 6 am and at the arranged time they were not there. But it worked out nicely for us - we had some time to put in claim for our child%26#39;s lost stroller.Otherwise I guess I would have been a bit upset. The driver was pleasant. I would not totally dismiss them - I think their delay was caused by other tourists arriving late.

I am thinking though about taking taxi next time. But what if we get stuck in the traffic jam? What time the morning (and afternoon) rush hour takes place in Paris?

%26gt;%26gt;%26gt; I am thinking though about taking taxi next time%26lt;%26lt;%26lt;

Prime %26#39;drive time%26#39; wiil be between 07:30-09:30 AM and again between 16:30-18:30 PM during the week....allowing for :30 mins. on the ends of either for unusual (but not uncommon) circumstances.

We once spent 90 minutes, stuck in traffic between exits (due to a major accident) on the autoroute between CDG and Paris, on a hot, sticky, July mid-morning, in a TAXI PARISIEN with no A/C (even had the car had A/C the driver couldn%26#39;t have used it) breathing exhaust fumes from all of the other cars and trucks equally stuck all %26#39;round us, with middle-eastern music blaring from the driver%26#39;s portable radio the whole time. No sistim are perphekt.

I always have use bluvan.fr to shuttle to and from CDG/Paris without any major inconvenience but if your are two or more maybe a taxi is a better deal,convenience wise. RER is always an option though you must be traveling light and do some homework to study well the RER/Metro system.

Hi,

I was just wondering if you should book an airport prior to arriving into CDG or is it possible to get a shuttle from the airport without pre-booking and paying? If yes and there%26#39;s more than one, can anyone recommend which company is best?

Thanks,

Ozgirl

OZgirl,

I%26#39;ve used the Air France shuttle which is cheap, convenient and does not require pre payment. (You also don%26#39;t have to be flying Air France to take it!)

This time around, we%26#39;ve booked with BluVan for the convenience of hotel drop off, but have not pre paid again. I%26#39;m leary of pre paying for things like shuttles. At the very worst, if they don%26#39;t show, we take another shuttle and we%26#39;re not out any money.

schrades:

I%26#39;m not familiar with France shuttle, sorry.

Hubby and I will be in Paris in early April,(Sunday 9:30 AM) and we have already decided to take a Taxi Parisien from Roissy/CDG TO Paris. No matter what the cost, I simply want a stress-free arrival. After a 9 hour flight from Chicago (albeit non-stop), I know I will be too exhausted to deal with shuttles or buses.

On our return to U.S, FROM Paris to CDG, we plan on taking Golden Air shuttle. Rick Steves%26#39; PARIS 2006 travel book recommends them as the most reliable shuttle service. In fact, Golden Air will grant you a 10% discount if you mention Rick Steves recommendation at reservation time.

To each his own...factor in variables such as cost, delays, wait time, crowds, and convenience.

Good luck with your decision..and have a great trip!

ton amie
