Using the Euro

This maybe a stupid question, Can I get the Euros that I have in France and use them Italy? I read that the back of the coins or notes are country specific, if this is true can I use them anywhere? Or must I get them in that Country?

All Euro%26#39;s are acceptable in all countries that are using Euro%26#39;s.

|||

I have them from ireland, france, germany

there all the same when it comes to exchange.

Only the coins are country specific (one size), but both euro coins and notes can be used everywere.

However: some EU countries issue %26quot;commemorative%26quot; euro coins every now and then (usually 2 euro), and those are sometimes not valid outside the issuing country. However, chances are slim that you%26#39;ll come across these coins, and even when you do - they make great souvenirs...

Watch out for old Franc coins - they can be confused with euro coins, but aren%26#39;t worth much (or anything) anymore.

Since the €uro replaced traditional national currencies but are still printed or minted within those countries, each country applies their own national %26#39;symbols%26#39; to the money they print/mint. But no matter what%26#39;s depicted on them, they%26#39;re ALL accepted equally throughout the EMU.

At the end of KDK%26#39;s post is an important acronym, %26quot;EMU%26quot;, the European Monetary Union. That%26#39;s only a portion of the EU. The UK and Czech Republic don%26#39;t use the Euro even though they%26#39;re EU states..

It%26#39;s just like in the USA.

Quarters can be different from state to state but they work the same everywhere :)

|||

Yeah, but a quarter won%26#39;t buy anything in any state, Ceejay!

That%26#39;s not entirely true. A quarter will still get you two dimes or four nickles or 20 pennies.....limited time only...while supplies last.

Two quarters get me my small town daily newspaper from a vending machine.
