My 20-year-old daughter is taking her first trip to Europe this May to attend a college program at the Cannes Film Festival. They have them staying at a little motel in Juan-les-Pins. The students have to make their own travel arrangements and I%26#39;m helping her. I%26#39;m wondering what is the easiest, safest, most cost efficient way to get her there? I%26#39;m thinking flying into Nice is probably her best bet as I%26#39;m not sure how comfortable she would be traveling on the train alone from Paris. What are everyone%26#39;s thoughts on that? What%26#39;s the best way to get her to Juan-les-Pins from Nice? I don%26#39;t have the motel%26#39;s name yet. Just trying to concentrate on the air part first.

My daughters, ages 14 %26amp; 16, studied in Antibes and lived in Juan-les-Pins last summer. We flew them into Nice with an easy bus transfer. The train station is a bit far from the airport, but the bus stop is right on the lower level of the airport. I have made this transfer myself and it was not only easy, but very reasonably priced. If you are not familiar with Juan-les-Pins, it is very safe. The local bus and train run to Cannes regularly.

Thanks Muguet,
I appreciate the comments. What type of bus is it? Does she need a reservation in advance? How do we find out the schedule?

The bus system is the local. It is easy to find on the lower level of the airport in Nice. The station managers speak English so there is little to fear. Both local and express buses run from the station. No reservations are required. I do not know the name of the bus line, we just hopped on! Juan-les-Pins is a very safe little city and people are most helpful. I do suggest she get a map of the Juan-les-Pins and Cannes to be familiar with prior to arriving. If time permits, Antibes is a great place to explore.

Thanks a lot. I%26#39;ll try to find her a map. They do have extra time to explore. In fact last year%26#39;s group went to Italy on a weekend.

I would certainly recommend that your daughter flies into Nice - it is a very %26#39;friendly%26#39; airport and there is excellent transport from the airport along the coast. I am sure the local expert would be able to tell you more.
