April trip

We are having a mini family reunion staying in the Villa Charmant (private) with 4 teens and one 11 year old and three adult women. Any ideas on places to purchase food (rusty French), things to do, places to go, etc.?

Thank you.

Don%26#39;t know the Villa but there are plenty of small supermarkets, bakeries, fruit shops etc all selling fresh local produce in the central area of Villefranche. The bakery with the most honest staff, who neither offload rubbish or get confused with the change when dealing with tourists, is in the Place Du Paix. Also newly caught fish are sold on the seafront each morning.

Things to do tend to vary according to the individual but we like to walk to Cap Ferrat and Mont Boron, both of which have magnificent villas and wonderful views. I also like to swim and canoe in the bay but water will be a little chilly in April.

The whole of one of the world%26#39;s most spectacular coastlines is available by bus and train. My favourite places to visit include Nice, Antibes, Eze and Menton. If I live to be 200 (seems unlikely) I will never tire of Nice. Others like Monte Carlo and Cannes. All of the places mentioned are within 40 minutes by bus or train.

If the weather is good you will love it but you could get some rainy days in April, when the many galleries and museums come in useful.
