Segway Paris tours ?

I recall a post some time ago about a unique Paris tour, one on Segways. Does anyone know any details, price, time, website, etc. ?

STrikes as a very good way to get your bearings and try something new.

Thanks for any help !

Website is http://www.citysegwaytours.com/paris/

I%26#39;m heading to Paris in April and I gave them a ring about this. I was looking at doing their evening tour. I%26#39;ve decided to do their night bike tour instead for a few reasons:

- Price

- Scope of Tour - the segway doesn%26#39;t go as far as the bike tour - they are limited by the battery life.

That withstanding it still looks like a really fun thing to do!

Hi Goaltender,

We will be doing this tour on the segway next week. We will have my 73 year old mother in tow and 2 older teens. I will post a review when we get back for you,

You ask a tough question. The answers to the details of your inquiry are on the website another poster has given. It is more difficult comment on what experience you seek. I have been to Paris on several occasions. I am not certain that I would choose a Segway tour for %26quot;my first time%26quot;, but I also see no reason to exclude the possibilty. Always with Paris the best thing is getting the %26quot;feel%26quot; of the city. I believe the generally, walking is best. However, I have also driven the central city and I believe that everyone should try that. I have never done the big bus tours so I cannot comment further. That being said, the Segway tour from the Eiffel Tower to the Invalides, to the Touilleries? would not be a bad intro and it is just plain a %26quot;kick%26quot; for those of us that have never Segwayed before. However, I would wait see and if the weather is fine and predicted to remain so. Then, I would book the day before and enjoy. If because of the number in your party you are unable to book--I would accept that that was meant to be, and do something else--because with the limited time that you have, you will not go wrong in Paris.

Thanks for all the thoughts.

I should have been more specific on our timelines. We are in Paris for 3 days arriving at 8:30 AM on an overnight train. So the tour would be the first thing we do and the intention is the tour gives us our bearings and then we take it from there with getting the real %26quot;feel%26quot; of the City on our own. Good point though, Irene Dunne. By no means is this intended to be our substitute for the other 2 1/2 days of blending in to the City.

And certainly the %26quot;kick%26quot; of riding a Segway brings added dimension to the tour, a step up from riding around in a bus I`d say.

Familydoc and NettieNZ, I`m looking forward to your first hand experience on the Segways being posted here. Thanks.

We did a Segway tour of Paris a couple trips back, and I highly recommend it! Yes, it was a %26quot;kick%26quot; to ride the Segways! Fun to ride, and fun to be seen on. On the tour, we stopped at a corner to wait for traffic, and passengers in a passing limo motorcade of dignitaries were actually gawking at us! Sorta felt like a %26quot;celebrity%26quot;. Another plus--their tour guides are all native English speakers, so they are easy to understand and you don%26#39;t have to strain your ears! They take a relatively small group, so you can easily ask questions and get a very personalized tour. We learned a lot of interesting tidbits that we wouldn%26#39;t have otherwise heard. We%26#39;ve done the hop-on hop-off bus tours and river cruises, but got so much more out of the Segway tour. I%26#39;m sure their bike tours are equal in that respect. It did help us get better bearings for the layout of the city, even tho we had been to Paris several times before. We traveled thru several parts of the city that were new for us, and discovered areas we wanted to go back to explore later. My husband and I are in our 40%26#39;s, and we had teenagers and 20-something children along. Everyone felt the Segway tour was the highlight of the entire trip. It is a little pricy, but if you can swing it, you will be rewarded with some great memories!

I did a segway tour in Washington DC last year and LOVED IT!! I was rather apprehensive, as it does take some balance, but it was so fun. Everyone in our group had the hang of it within 10-15 minutes. I would be doing it in Paris next month, but am pregnant now, which is against the company rules :(

friendly warning...They are said to be really fun but you do have to get the hang of them ...and you can get hurt otherwise....

Frankly, I%26#39;d do the Cityrama or ParisVisions bus tour to %26#39;get my bearings%26#39; upon arrival...Then do the Segway a day or two later after you%26#39;re more rested...

At any rate....never have seen a review by someone who regretted the experience...There are also bicycle tours of Paris...
