Can anyone give us an idea on how many hours it might take to drive from Burgandy to Bordeuax? We are just in the first stages on planning a month long holiday for France/Italy for late August and early September.We are planning on booking accom when we get to a place rather than then prebooking it. Are we mad or just hopeful? Any advice much appreciated.

It is quite a long way because if you go straight down there are not a lot of motorways.
mappy.fr says it should take 7h26 and 668km but I%26#39;m sure it will take longer because of the traffic on %26quot;normal%26quot; roads. I remember going to %26quot;les Landes%26quot;region below Bordeaux and we spent like 10 hours. But if you%26#39;re not in a hurry you%26#39;ll see very nice and various countrysides. Stop as often to appreciate it!
As for bookings in September, Djon can be busy with congresses and seminaries (France goes back to work, Beaune is busy all the time, but you should be able to find an accommodation.
