Easiest way to travel from Gare St Lazare to Gare du Nord?

What is the very easiest way for 3 adults to make this transfer? How long will this transfer take? I need to make reservation and need a time frame.

On another topic...we are flying into CDG and will transfer to Gare St Lazare. I read people feel that grabbing a taxis is better than hiring a van in advance. Is this the best plan? We arrive at noon on Wednesday and hope to make the train which leaves at 1500 to Caen.

So you%26#39;re not trying to get from Gare du Nord to Gare Saint Lazare...you%26#39;re trying to get from your CDG arrival terminal to Gare Saint Lazare. That being the case, then the easiest way will be to simply exit your CGG arrival terminal building and take a TAXI PARISIEN from the regular take rank just outside. Taxi fare should avg. 40-50 €uro.

If you decide to use the RER %26#39;B%26#39; ligne transfer (8 € per person), then take the RER %26#39;B%26#39; train as far as Gare du Nord (30 mins) then transfer (a long-ish underground Correspondence to the connected MAGENTA RER station) to the RER %26#39;E-1%26#39; ligne (heading in the direction of Haussmann St. Lazare--any train with a %26#39;H xxx%26#39; designator) to the end of the ligne at HAUSSMANN-SAINT LAZARE.

From Gare du Nord to Gare St Lazare there is ONE stop on RER E. Stop for gare du Nord is called Magenta and for for St Lazare it is called St Lazare Haussmann. It takes 5 minutes max and one metro ticket.

You can also use buses 42, 43 and 26.

From Charles de Gaulle to St Lazare you can grab a taxi (easiest) or take the Roissy bus to Opera and roll your suitcase on Blvd Haussman to gare St Lazare.

Taxi and Roissy bus are more reliable than shuttles because you do not know which itinerary the shuttle will take.

Taxi is about 38-40 Euros and takes 30 minutes. Roissy bus takes same time but you can wait for it for up to 15-2- minutes and then you have to walk to St Lazare. Bus is about 9 Euros.

Let me make sure I have this right.

From CGD take a TAXI PARISIEN to Gare Saint Lazare to board a train to Caen.

Later in the week when we return to Paris from Caen, take REF E to Gare du Nord, (Magenta is the stop) for the Eurostar.

Thank you KDSAIL and la photograhe. I appreciate your help in answering my questions.

We have searched TripAdvisor many times for ideas as we have planned this trip. We have located wonderful apartments, B%26amp;Bs and hotels by reading all the forums. We have found ideas for restaurants, which tour is best, shortest travel routes, and yes, even places we might want to avoid.

Thanks to all that make this happen.

Well...YES...that%26#39;s pretty much it....BUT, depending on how you feel coming off of your return train from CAEN; if you are departing Paris immediately via EUROSTAR, you might be inclined to simply take a TAXI PARISIEN from Gare Saint Lazare directly to Gare du Nord. The fare will probaly only run approx 5,20 €-to-6 €. The official minimum taxi fare is 5,20 €).

What is the travel time going by TAXI PARISIEN to Gare du Nord? la photograhe noted the travel time as max 5 min by train not sure how often the trains leave for Gare du Nord. Taking a taxi may be a good idea. We arrive at 1700 from Caen and the Eurostar leaves at 1820. We will need to collect our tickets from the counter on the mezzanine. As I am using a US credit card we can not collect our tickets from the automatic ticketing machines which require a French credit or debit card.

Thank You for your help.
