(been learning French for three months but am very discouraged).

Congratulations, you are in one of the most wonderful cities in the world! I haven%26#39;t been there for MANY years, unfortunately, but lived there for 8-11th grades. My Father was the American Consul there and we lived in the appartments in the Consulate on Rue des Voges. I went to Lycee Kleber, which isn%26#39;t too far from there. While I had a couple of American friends, our family was very successful in making numerous lasting friendships with local %26quot;Alsaciens%26quot;. Don%26#39;t be hampered if your French is not yet up to par. The people are warm and friendly, and if you ask for their help communicating you will learn a lot and have fun learning. I have a dream of returning, and maybe when retirement rolls around I will be able to spend and extended vist. Have a blast, and good luck!
