Paris in May "One Week"

Hi fellow travelers,

I am going to Paris in May for a week with my wife and 10year old son. I have been googleing the Internet for activities tours etc. to my heart’s content but have not found what I want:

1-Is it better to buy tours tickets etc. on the Internet or wait until I am there and purchase them there?

2-How can I find half day art craft or tour workshop for my kid, similar to what we have here at Museums, so he could spend a morning with other kids, specially French?

Thanks

I think it depends on what kind of tour/ticket you%26#39;re talking about. I think most posters here would agree that virtually any ticket sold by a third party with big mark-ups is best purchased once you arrive. This includes Museum Passes, Metro %26quot;Paris Visite%26quot; passes, and or city tours from companies like CityRama, etc. All can be purchased direct from the source quite easily without paying a premium.

On the other hand, some tours, like personally guided visits to the Louvre, or minivan tours to the Loire valley, should be reserved in advance. In these cases, you would probably be reserving directly with the person or company, and not using a third party, but nonetheless securing your seat or participation in a tour so it%26#39;s guaranteed when you arrive.
