I love Paris! We are leaving in 4 days! I’ve been to Paris a number of times and feel like I can handle just about anything on my own, however I will be taking my wife (been to Paris twice but never with me) and her parents (only one of them has been to Paris but it was 20 years ago). I really want them to have a good time and enjoy themselves there. We will be visiting Versailles, the Loire Castles, and Paris. Any suggestions on what I can do to show them a good time? We only have 2 days in the Loire valley, what are the most important things to see besides Chenonceaux, Chambord, and Blois? Also what is a good/not too expensive place to eat in Amboise?

I took my mom 2 years ago and she had never been. I was an %26quot;expert%26quot; with one previous trip under my belt. the biggest thing I can suggest is not to take it for granted that they know what you know and be patient. Let them read the guides, take tours, etc. or play tourguide for them. If you have knowledge of the sites, share with them. I think the best part of taking someone to Paris is seeing it anew through their eyes.

Grace%26#39;s advice was impeccable! We took my sister and her husband to Italy and Paris with us last May - their first trip to Europe, and we did the same standard things that most tourists enjoy. We let them choose what to do, although they really preferred us planning the itinerary since we were the experienced travelers. They enjoyed themselves so much that they will be returning to Paris and Italy again with us this May. It was magical to see the cities in Europe that I love through my sister%26#39;s eyes - just to see that wide open look of amazement that one gets their %26#39;first%26#39; time! You won%26#39;t even mind doing the regular tourist stuff again. You%26#39;ll have a great time!

..agree with others about sharing the joy of discovering (?rediscovering) a place through someone else%26#39;s eyes...I was in Paris with my mother. She had travelled many times to Paris with my Dad on business but I must confess my Dad hated Paris (long story...). I had at that point been there quite frequently ..a friend walked my mother and I back to our hotel on Ile Saint Louis. He took my mother through some lovely small streets and then we ended up at a cafe for drinks. When we arrived at our hotel, my mother suddenly looked like a young girl and blurted out%26quot; this is the Paris I have dreamed of%26quot;....this made my trip.
