Is 9 nights enough??

We plan on being in Paris for 9 nights start of April. Do people on this forum think this is enough to get the feel of Paris or should we include a few more days. We are on a very long trip (4months) so can be flexible. Also, is it worth doing a daytrip to Disney (i know its a tourist thing but we%26#39;ve been to Disney in the US and WDW)

My wife and I did a 16 nights stay in Paris a decade ago, and while we loved it, we wished after the fact that we had used about a week of it to see other parts of France. But we%26#39;ve made a dozen visits to France over the last 15 years or so. If this is your first visit, you might want to spend more time.

My _guess_ is 9 days is plenty (based on my own experience), but only you can know for certain what you really want to do and see.

I envy you ,haven%26#39;t had that much myself ever but definitely you should be able to cover the best of Paris and then some.

You should enough time to explore other parts either by tour day trips or rent a car and have 3 days to visit the Loire Valley%26amp; Bordeaux, its beautiful.

I have stayed in Paris 8-15 days a trip in my

5 trips to Paris since 2000.

Figure out the things you want to see and

do and get back to us with your list and

we can tell you about how much time it will

take. There may even be enough time for

1 or 2 trips out of Paris, i.e. Chartres,

Versailles, Giverny, WWII Normandy, etc.

Happy planning

I think 9 nights is a good amount of time for a first visit and even a few quick trips out of town i.e. Chartres or Versailles.

We usually do 9-11 night visits to Paris and this amount of time usually leaves us sufficient time for two or three all-day trips out of Paris, as well as a more leisurely (less frantic) amount of time to see the sights---stopping off for leisurely lunches and spells at likely looking cafés along the way.

As for DLP, unless you%26#39;re a die-hard Disney-fan, who wants to %26#39;notch%26#39; another park on their %26#39;ears%26#39;, there are a lot more interesting day-trips that you can D-I-Y from Paris--Loire chateaux, Chartres, Giverny, Rouen, Dijon, Lyon, Normandy beaches, etc.---even a Eurostar day-trip to London.

We were actually thinking of a day-trip to St Mont Michel- (i think thats how its spelt)- the monks building that is sort of cut off by the sea at high tide (which i%26#39;ve heard now has a carpark on it) - it looks gorgeous in pictures. we were probably thinking of taking a train there and back but not a 100% on that. Other plans currently are exploring Paris as never been to Paris (typical touristy stuff like eiffel tower etc and then some we will play by ear). My husband and I love travelling and thank goodness in Australia we both have jobs that his gives him 4months long service and i have a job that enables you to purchase 4 weeks leave plus your normal 4 weeks and you can save it up :-)

We have done lots of wonderful travel in the US- 28 states only 22 more to go and our trip will end in the US (looooooovvveee the Outlet shopping there)

As I explore more of what we may do I will definitely be in contact with you all.

And a Big THANKYOU for your help.

I say, a week in Paris is more than enough to get a good impression and you%26#39;ll be glad to leave this busy city once and a while.

Mont St. Michel is a rather long drive and it%26#39;s very touristical but it%26#39;s worth the visit. Bretagne (The province where MSM is in is also am awsome place.

Visiting Normandy north of Bretagne and visit the WWII sights is almost a must. You%26#39;ll be very impressed by it.

Stay a night in Bretagne/Normandy. It%26#39;s to far for a daysdrive Paris-Paris.(or ride).

Paris- Bordeaux is a long strech of boring freeway. Not recommanded. Better visit places like Fontainebleau or Versailles in the vincinities of Paris.

And to Disneyland.... not my idea.
