I noticed that a lot of Paris hotels with their own on-line booking offer last minute deals (usually three days before a reservation). Has anyone tried this?
I am really struggling with booking a budget hotel when I what I really want is something a little nicer.

I don%26#39;t know what your budget is, but a very nice, fashionable hotel in the 8th has the very program you refer to.
Check out www.hotellavoisier.com. Hotel Lavoisier. It is very well located in the 8th near the Madeliene and rue Faugourg St. Honore. I would not call it inexpensive, but their last minute deals are a steal for the quality of the hotel.
