Could someone recommend an Hotel close to Gare Montparnasse, preferably within walking distance but if not 1 or 2 metro stops away .I am looking for something nice, price not too important. Thanks in advance!

I%26#39;d choose something near Vavin métro stop. That neighbourhood is very nice, just south of the Luxembourg Gardens and only steps away from the famous brasseries on Blvd. Montparnase.

Sainte Beuve***, Rue Sainte-Beuve, 6th
Villa des Artistes***, Rue de la Grande Chaumière, 6th
Jardin le Bréa***, Rue Bréa, 6th
Lenox Montparnasse***, Rue Delambre, 14th

The Meridien Montparnasse is across the street from the train station. It is an enormous hotel with outstanding views of the city from the higher floors. If you are looking for the quaint Paris experience, this isn%26#39;t it, but if you prefer the convenience of chain hotels, 24 hour room service, restaurants on premise, etc., then its location should fit the bill.
