Train question!

Does anyone know if any of these routes have overnight train transportation? Or even bus?

Paris to London

and

Amsterdam to Paris

THe distances aren%26#39;t long enough to warrent an overnight journey really. London Paris by eurostar in 3 hours or less, has essentially made any other form of train transport out of the question. You%26#39;d have to book a ticket from Paris to one of the port cities, get a foot passenger ticket then buy a second train ticket from the port in the UK to London.

Similarly Paris Amsterdam is only 4 or 5 hours away so no over-night service.

The main bus operator is eurolines but, althought you could be in luck for Paris/London, a quick look at their site suggests there isn%26#39;t an over-night service to Amsterdam. (Once you have picked your departure country the page will be in French, Amsterdam is in the %26quot;Pays-Bas%26quot; and London/Londres in the %26quot;Grande Bretagne%26quot;) You%26#39;ll probably want Paris/Gallieni as your departure point, this is the end of line three.

Trying to access Eurolines from the UK, it drops you onto the National Express website http://www.nationalexpress.com/ - presumably the UK agents?

There appears to be a direct overnight bus service, London-Amsterdam, about 11 hours, costing about £35 one-way for the random date I tried.

HTH ... but rather you than me!

PARIS to LONDON by train is only available via EUROSTAR, which only takes 2:35 hrs and all Eurostar train serve cesase at midnight. I suppose it might be possible to use an overnight rail/ferry/rail connection...but I%26#39;m not sure any late night, cross-Channel fery services still run.

Paris to Amsterdam is only 4:15 hrs via direct THALYS trains, which stop running at approx. 19:00 (7:00 PM). Again, it might be possible to stretch this trip out by a more circuitious route, but this would necessarily mean train chenges and LONG lay-overs between train and wouldn%26#39;t be %26#39;sleeper..%26#39; trains.

There is some overnight bus service from PARIS to AMSTERDAM, which departs Paris 1t 22:15 (10:15 PM) and arrives in Amsterdam at 06:30 AM...but this isn%26#39;t really the sleeper-train option you%26#39;re probably lookin%26#39; for

I guess there is some disadvantage to these faster trains... 20 years ago I used a sleeper from Paris to Amsterdam regularly and it was great!
