Air France extras

I noticed that someone had posted a message about United Airlines and free drinks, etc. I would like to know if Air France provides pillows. I had read in the paper several months ago about how airlines were not providing blankets and pillows. They were talking about US airlines flying domestic, but I was wondering if we needed to bring those small neck pillows with us or are pillows still provided by Air France.

Thanks in advance for your answer.

Yes, AirFrance provides pillows, blankets, earphones, eyeshades, moist towelettes, and foam earplugs. Depending on the specific flight, you will also get the marvelous folding %26quot;neckwings%26quot; that support your head while your trying your best to fall asleep.

And depending on the flight, you may get your own personal entertainment system so you can watch what you like without having to crane your neck to see a movie that you may not want to see anyway!

Most of the time, your pillow and blanket are already on your seat, but if not, ask immediately so that they don%26#39;t run out. For transatlantic flights, they serve complimentary beer, wine and champagne and will bring more if you ask. The red wine may be the best choice if you%26#39;re looking for a sleep aid. I%26#39;m glad Truffaut mentioned the %26#39;neckwings%26#39;. I had flown to Europe several times before I ever figured out I had them. Keep in mind that some people have a problem with their feet swelling while in the air for extended periods of time, so if you plan to take off your shoes for comfort, make sure that you%26#39;re wearing a pair that will be easy to get back into when you land even if your feet are swollen. Take plenty of walks up and down the aisles if you can without bothering your seatmates so you avoid nasty blood clots in your legs, and if there%26#39;s any way to get a seat with no one next to you so that you can put down the armrest and put your feet up, that would be optimal. If you know what kind of plane you%26#39;re flying (777, 767, etc.) and you have a seat assignment, you can go to www.seatguru.com and see exactly where your seat is. If you use your cursor to %26#39;hover%26#39; over your seat on the screen, it will give you specific information for that seat. If you don%26#39;t have a seat assignment, this website may help you decide what you%26#39;d like to request. Whew! I guess I gave you a lot more information than you asked for. But one more thing...if you want a magazine from their magazine selection, get it when you get on the plane. Shortly after takeoff, all of the good magazines are gone and you%26#39;ll be left with a 3 year-old copy of Popular Mechanics. Or Vocal Technique Quarterly. (That was for you, Truffaut!) Just a little inside joke because we%26#39;re both vocalists. Have a great time!

Thanks for the info. After going to the seat guru site and looking again at my flight info I guess our plane is a Delta 777, the newly configured ones, and our flight info says operated by Air France. We do have our seat assignments and from that I deduct it has to be the Delta 777 because the Air France charts on guru don%26#39;t have 3 seats on each side and ours does. Thanks again for your help. I will ask for a pillow upon boarding.

You are very welcome. And why are we up so late? Not sure about you, but I%26#39;m on the East Coast and it%26#39;s 2:50am and I%26#39;m wide awake and bored. I am VERY blessed that I don%26#39;t have to get up early. My schedule allows me to stay in my PJ%26#39;s almost as long as I want. I%26#39;m a musician and a copywriter, so I can rehearse, choose music for my choir, or write copy without having to get up while it%26#39;s still dark. And believe me, I don%26#39;t take it for granted. I know how very blessed I am. Guess I just totally went off of the subject yet again. But my hubby went to bed long ago and wouldn%26#39;t take too kindly to me waking him up to chatter about seat assignments! Thank God for my friends on the forum. There%26#39;s always someone around!

What was I doing up so late Vickisfloyd, well, we have a dog, Katie, that has a doggie wheelchair because she blew out 2 discs in her back (common with doxies who like to jump from high places). Every once in awhile she has a bad night and can’t sleep so she keeps me up with her. Unfortunately, I do have to get up and be at school at 7:30 since I am a media specialist in an elementary school. It really wears me out when she does this. I can’t stay up like I used to when I was young and then get up and go to work. I finally put her back in her cage after giving her a dose of her valium and went to sleep in my son’s room (He’s at FSU and graduates next month, thank goodness) so I couldn’t hear her crying. I really am a night owl too (which drives my hubby crazy), but not during the school year. We will have to talk on IM in June about Paris when I can stay up late since I won’t have school. We have a crazy school system. We start the end of July when it is the hottest and get out the end of May. Makes no sense to me at all. I won’t be able to sleep anyway in June. I will be too excited about our trip. I actually had a nightmare about it last night.

Check your seating again as I am not sure that any airlines have three seat on the window sides on any of the trans Atlantic flights, etc... I hope not anyways!

That is what I was told when I made my seat reservation. The website that Vicki gave me shows that on the updated Delta 777%26#39;s also.
