Rosny sous Bois

Hello,

We are planning to visit Paris in July and we are thinking of staying at Rosny sous Bois area. However, I have tried to gather as much information as possible on the place, but to no luck.

Can anyone help?

What is the area like? How far is it from the centre? Under which suburb does it fall?

I appreciate your help. MERCI!!!

...and curious as to why you think you might stay in Rosny-sous-Bois for a Paris visit...? do you have business there?

It%26#39;s about 13 km/ 8 miles outside Paris, to the east, beyond Vincennes.

ROSNY-sous-BOIS is out in transportation Zone 3 and located on the RER %26#39;E-4%26#39; ligne into central Paris (there is also a connection you can make 1 stop south at VAL de FONTENAY for the RER %26#39;A-4%26#39; ligne into Paris or out to Disneynald Paris). The total commute time between ROSNY-sous-BOIS and central via RER train should be approx 20 mins. each way.

No we don%26#39;t have business. We are organising an educational trip for students (from Malta) and we have found a very reasonable Hotel (Balladins)with some attractive prices. What do you think of the area? Is it safe? Any suggestions? Please advice.

Am I right ... is it Saint Denis area?

|||

The town of St Denis is north of Paris, so no, R-s-B is not in St Denis. I don%26#39;t know what the environment is like, however...

1. Would you mind stating the room rate that you received for Balladins, and for how many persons in a room? (ie. twin, triple..) Perhaps we can help you find something within Paris.

2. How many are in the entire group?

3. There are very budget (dorm-like) accommodations to be found in Paris - that might work well for you.

No, don%26#39;t bury yourselves in not very attractive, 0 charm, far away Rosny sous Bois. Use KDK%26#39;s suggestions, or even find a budget hotel that%26#39;s closer to Paris, but not there. On top of it, I think I see where it is, in the middle of a 70s %26quot;business park%26quot; and a spaghetti junction.

%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;Am I right ... is it Saint Denis area?%26lt;%26lt;%26lt;

NO....you may be confusing ROSNY-sous-BOIS, a near-eastern suburb...with the similar sounding, ROISSY-sous-BOIS, which is a more north-easterly near-suburb.

Perhaps the easiest way to see the relative difference in location is to look at the RATP%26#39;s Plan de Lignes diagram for the RER lignes---

www.ratp.info/orienter/rer.php?partenaire=

(then Click on %26#39;..Le plan des réseaux RER...for the complete RER system diagram)

RoSNY-sous-Bois will be located on the RER %26#39;E-4%26#39; ligne.

RoISSY-sous-Bois will be located near to AULNAY-sous-BOIS station on the northern RER %26#39;B-3%26#39; %26amp; %26#39;B-5%26#39; lignes.

Regardless, neither location is strong on %26#39;..charme..%26#39;...and of the two locations, ROSNY sous BOIS will be only marginally better....which is quite probably the reason why you found hotel rates that low.

Selecting student accommodations out there will most probably require that you employ some %26#39;creative%26#39; logisitcs for your visit. Whatever you may gain in lower hotel rates will almost certainly be gobbled up by inconvenience and aggravations in transporting (and feeding) a group of students to and from the %26#39;..PARIS..%26#39; that you really came to visit.
