4 day Metro or train pass

I am taking 9 college students and 2 adults to Paris from May 10 to 14.

We would like to use public transportation (preferably the metro) to travel from Gare du Nord to Chatelet on May 10. We would additionally like to travel throughout the city on the Metro for the 4 days we are there.

We would like to travel from Chatelet to Charles de Gaulle airport on Sunday, May 14.

Please advise if we can purchase a 4-day pass for this and what the price would be for the 2 adults and the 9 college students aged 18 to 22 years of age.

Thank you.

If you visit the RATP website at ratp.fr you can see the broad range of tickets and passes available to you if you click on the link for Titres de Transport. There is a link for International Passengers that will present some information in English, but not all.

Based on what you%26#39;ve described, it appears that the least expensive option for you will be to purchase a Carte Orange for zones 1-2 for 15,70E each, and a separate one-way ticket for the RER to CDG at 8,00E. Keep in mind that you will need to purchase the Carte Orange at the Gare du Nord when you arrive on the 10th, as that will be the last day it is available for the week. Each of you will need to bring a photo that%26#39;s approx. 2.5x3cm.

There are other options available to you, and I encourage you to take a look at the website, but again, based on what you%26#39;ve described, I think this will be your best bet. You may have plans that I%26#39;m not aware of that will fit better with the Moblis or the expensive Paris Visite pass, so you%26#39;ll have to ultimately decide.

Your best bet is to buy a weekly Carte Orange pass, zones 1-2, for everyone: it%26#39;s €15.70 a head, regardless of age. It%26#39;s valid Mon to Sun, and the last day to purchase it is Wed, ie the day you are arriving.

Being under 26 and no registered student at a French university only gives you the right to a week-end daily pass (%26quot;Ticket jeunes%26quot;), only valid on Sat and Sun, and worth € 3.20 a day for zones 1-3 (there is no 1-2, don%26#39;t ask me... ). So if you have time to spare you can do the maths: 15.7 - 6.40 = € 9.30, ie less than a carnet for two days, will it be enough, or am I better off taking CO for everyone ?

My advice is that for a couple or euros here or there, just take the CO, it%26#39;s more simple, no hassle, it%26#39;ll make a souvenir for them. But be aware of all the paperwork involved: do a search on TA or visit ratp.fr

%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;Your best bet is to buy a weekly Carte Orange pass, zones 1-2, for everyone: it%26#39;s €15.70 a head, regardless of age. It%26#39;s valid Mon to Sun, and the last day to purchase it is Wed, ie the day you are arriving.%26lt;%26lt;%26lt;

As noted, the weekly CARTE ORANGE Zone 1-2 will most likely be you best bet for both cost and %26#39;hop-on/hop-off%26#39; convenience for ALL public transportation (RER, Metro, Bus, Tram, Funicular) within Paris. As a comparison to it%26#39;s 15,70€uro cost, a single CARNET (booklet of 10 reduced-priced individual tackets) will be 10,70 €uro.

The CARTE ORANGE requires that the user provide a %26#39;head-shot%26#39; photo (approx 1 1/4%26quot; x 1 1/4%26quot;...of ANY type) to be affixed to the photo-ID portion of the pass at the time of purchase.

And though it has been noted above..but bears repeating for emphasis...a CARTE ORANGE for the current week%26#39;s validity will only be on sale until WEDNESDAY. So you MUST purchase your CARTE ORANGE passes on your Wednesday, May 10th, DAY of ARRIVAL. The CARTE ORANGE will NOT be available for sale for the current week on Thursday.

On of the intangible %26#39;benefits%26#39; of the Carte Orange is that because it has YOUR photo laminated on it, it also makes a great personalized %26#39;souvenir%26#39; of your visit.
