paris museum pass for the parents but what about 16 yr old...

We plan on buying the Paris Museum Pass for myself and husband- mostly to avoid the queues. However our 16 year has mostly free admission so we won%26#39;t buy her a pass. So how does it work when we enter the museum? Will they ask her for ID?Does she have to queue? Please advise?

Thanks

Kids 17 and under get in Paris museums for free. If you have a pass, they may skip the line and enter with you. You may want to either take their passport with you (or a copy of it) to prove the age, if your 16-year-old looks older.

I found this out awhile back and it is excellent. Thank you softballmom for the advice about the young persons age identification.

Two more things: at certain museums (d%26#39;Orsay and Pompidou) they have two lines entering the main entrance. If you have the museum pass you and your teenager can enter via the shorter %26quot;reserved%26quot; line instead of the longer %26quot;general%26quot; line. Also, certain sites like Pompidou and the Arc require %26lt;18 year olds to pick up %26quot;free%26quot; tickets, I guess for tallying purposes. At the Pompidou they generously allowed us to cut in line to pick it up for our daughter. Not sure of other places.

This has nothing to do with museum passes, but at the D%26#39;Orsay we skipped the line by entering through the gift shop.
