Are there any in Nice? They talk so much about the casinos in Monte Carlo but not about any others along the French coast. If there are any what kind do they have? Roulette? Blackjack? Slots? Craps?

And Casino Ruhl on the Promenade des Anglais.

Are these casinos small? big? fancy? admission charge, like the one in Monte Carlo?

Haven´t been inside the casino, so can´t give you details. According to the site I mentioned above the entrance fee for the Table Games rooms is 11.50 Euros, correct dress and valid ID (passport) are required.

I went to the casino at the palais de la Méditerranée. Part of it is fancy (the roulette and black jack section for instance), part of it is the usual stuff like Atlantic City Trump Plaza for instance. As long as you are neatly dressed you%26#39;ll get in. No cover charge.

My husband and I went to the Casino Ruhl in Nice last spring. You must take your passport and it costs maybe 10-15 euros to get in, but we were there for the experience, so what the heck. The casino there is not Las Vegas- it is quiet and somewhat stuffy. We played blackjack for an hour or so with some friendly Russian tourists. We had a fun time, bit it is not the %26quot;scene%26quot; that US casinos are. Fortunately, we quit while we were ahead and left France with an interesting story to tell our friends. Do not go if you are looking for a crazy time, but for us, it was fun and an interesting way to spend an evening. No suits required, but dress nicely (I wore a skirt and sweater, my husband wore a button down shirt and black pants).
