Transportation Question

Hi to all

I don%26#39;t know how far and how long the ride is from the Paris Gare Du Nord trainstation to the Charles de Gaulle Airport.

My train arrives from Amsterdam at 11:05AM and my flight back to the states leaves at 2:15PM

Is that enough time for me to get to the airport and check-in?

IF...you use the RER %26#39;B%26#39;ligne train from PARIS-Gare du Nord (from the RER portion of the station on the lower levels of Gare du Nord) the train travel time is only 30 minutes (fare 8 € per person) to one of the two(2) RER stations within CDG. If your outbound flight departs from one of the CDG #2 (A, B, C, D, E, F) terminals, it may take you 10-15 minutes to get from the RER train platforms to your airline%26#39;s check-in desk/line. If your outbound flight departs from CDG #1, then you will have to take a shuttle bus across to CDG #1 from the RER station and it may take you 15-20 minutes to your airline%26#39;s check-in desk/line. So three(3) hours should be just fine.

A TAXI PARISIEN from the regular taxi rank just outside the doors of Gare du Nord will take approx. 40-55 minutes--approx fare 40-50 €

Hi KDKSAIL

Thanks for replying to my post.

I found out that IcelandAir (My departure flight) is located in Terminal 1 of Charles de Gaulle Airport.

My train arrives at Paris Gare Du Nord at 11:05AM. Does the train arrive on time? have you had experience where the train might be delayed? This is a morning train coming from Amsterdam.

I am assuming it might take me 20 mins to get off the train and grab the RER train to the airport. Plus 15-20 mins to grab the shuttle from the RER train.

That would take me to the Iceland Air check-in counter approximately 12:15pm. 2 hours prior to departure. My departure time is 2:15PM

Am I pushing it? or can it be done?

Thanks

Barring unforseen circumstances, YES...the trains do run on schedule.

I%26#39;d say that it shouldn%26#39;t take you anymore than 15 minutes to get from your THALYS train arrival platform, on the upper level of Gare du Nord, to the RER platforms on the lower level. You simply walk to the end of your THALYS arrival platform, turn LEFT and walk straight ahead (100 meters??) along the main concourse of Gare du Nord until you bump into the entrance to the RER station, then down two (??) levels (there are escalators) to the RER departure platforms.

Take the RER %26#39;B-3%26#39; ligne train to its first CDG stop--CDG #1 and simply exit the station and look for the free ADP shuttle bus (navette) to take you to the Departures entrance to CDG #1 (perhaps 10 minutes at most).

This leaves you more than adequate time to get through Icelandic%26#39;s check-in procedures and airport security and get to your departure gate---probably with time enough to spend money in the Duty Free shops along the way.
