Paris this Sat 11th March - just a quick question please

Hi All

Myself and my girlfriend will be arriving in Paris at 14.20 Saturday and leaving at 14.00 on the following Tuesday

So 3 nights but not quite 4 days

My question is...... I will be bringing €500

Is it about enough?

We will eat at nice restaurants for 3 nights but not the most expensive by any means

Have a couple of lunches in street cafes, and breakfast has already been paid for with room rate at Agora St Germain

We will be seeing Eiffel Tower, Arc De Triomphe, Lourve , Sacre Couer, and Notre Dame, and using Metro and walking

So will my 500 be enough, partner bringing money too but Id like her to keep her money to buy stuff for herself in Paris

Many many thanks

You should be more than fine, unless of course you don%26#39;t get tempted by some jewelry, designer clothes or very fancy restaurants!

We have just returned from Paris and we too took about 500 euros %26amp; it was more than enough. Entrance to the attractions is not much at all we went up the Eiffel Tower and it was 11 euros each. We had 3 course meals with wine for 80 euros so you should be fine.

Enjoy!!

Thanks Kasthor

I know everyone is different and we could all spend money all day if we had it but I just want to be reasonable, have a great first trip to paris, and come back without being broke :-))

As you can understand just looking for a few opinions about the amount Im bringing

Thanks again for replying

You can blow the 500 on one lunch or live for 10 days in Paris with the same amount of money. I am sure you will be fine.

All restaurants have a menu with prices near entrance and like an other poster said entrance to museums or attractions is reasonable (unlike the Taj Mahal!).

Hi -

If you want to control your expenditures for most meals (there has to be one good blowout, don%26#39;t you think?) look at le menu - the set meal at each restaurant that interests you - it will be good value - what we call a menu is %26quot;la carte%26quot;.

Do not drink soft drinks - they are more expensive than wine - stick to the house wine - no place in France could last more than a month if their house wine was bad -

Bon voyage -

500 is quite adequate. You%26#39;ll find that the attractions are very inexpensive. The Louvre is around 12, catacombs about 5, Notre Dame, free, Sacre Coeur and the tomb underneath free, St. Chappelle about 6. To get an idea of restaurant prices, go to www.reservethebest.com. They have loads of restaurants for which you can make reservations in advance, and most show you a menu with prices. For lunch, consider picnics. Stop at the local Monoprix (a grocery store) or Supermarche and pick up baquettes, cheese, meats, fruit, yogurt, whatever you like, and picnic spots abound. A good picnic lunch may cost 10 Euro for both of you. If you want a good idea for souvenirs for friends, consider again the grocery store. Pick up jars of preserves, honey, chocolates and Herbes de Provence (available in the states but much better in France!) Put together little gourmet baskets, and with their French labels, friends and family will think you%26#39;ve spent a fortune. Each basket may cost only 7 or 8 Euro, maybe less. Have a great time!

And don%26#39;t forget that Ireland being in the Eurozone, it would cost you no commission to withdraw euros from an ATM in Paris.
